Essential preferences
The site stores your color theme, interface-language preference, and privacy choice in your browser. These values are needed to remember settings you select and are not used for advertising.

Cookieless audience measurement
Historium's first-party audience counter does not set an analytics cookie. It derives a rotating pseudonymous key with a one-way keyed HMAC from request-level network and browser signals, and stores that key instead of the raw IP address or full user-agent string. It may retain the public page path, event time, visible active time, a server-supplied two-letter country code, referring host without the full URL, coarse acquisition channel, and coarse device, browser-family and operating-system categories. “New” and “returning” are estimates within the retained window. Query strings, full referrer URLs, account identity, search text, form contents, and private administration, authentication and submission routes are excluded. Administrator traffic is excluded. Reports are bounded to no more than 90 days; stale rows are removed by subsequent limited cleanup runs.
Historium loads the Google tag on normal public pages using Consent Mode v2 with analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization denied by default. In this state the tag does not create Google Analytics cookies; Google may receive limited cookieless signals for aggregate and modelled reports. Historium removes sensitive and non-campaign query values from measured page addresses. Strictly formatted campaign codes may be retained for acquisition reporting. Names, email addresses, passwords, account identifiers, contact or comment text, search text, and reset tokens are not intentionally sent to Analytics.
The slim notice shown by Historium outside regions that require an advertising consent message is a disclosure, not an opt-in control, and closing it does not enable analytics cookies. In regions where consent is legally required for Google advertising or related storage, Google’s certified consent platform presents the applicable choices and transmits them to participating vendors. Browser privacy controls, content blockers, or network filtering may prevent measurement entirely.
Google AdSense and advertising choices
Historium may display manual Google AdSense units in clearly separated advertising areas. Google and third-party advertising vendors or networks may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, the public page being viewed, approximate location, and ad impressions or interactions to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, limit repetition, and report performance. Depending on your region and choice, ads may be personalized, non-personalized, or limited.
In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other contexts where it is required, Google’s certified consent message controls advertising storage, personalization, and related purposes. Cookie choices in the footer reopens the applicable Google message. You can also use Google Ads Settings, review Google’s Ad Technology Providers, or use the industry YourAdChoices opt-out tool where available. Account and security services
Public membership uses Historium's email-and-password session. Google sign-in is retained only as a restricted administrative fallback and is not offered as public membership. Cloudflare Turnstile may use security storage or similar browser technologies when the protected contact form is displayed.
Signed-in members can save public content and synchronize film or article progress with their private account. That server-side account data is not an advertising cookie and can be managed from My Historium.
YouTube
Videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain. YouTube may store or access information after you play or interact with an embedded video.
Change your choice
Use the control to reopen Google’s certified consent message where it applies, or to review Historium’s cookieless-measurement notice elsewhere. Advertising choices are also available through Google Ads Settings. Browser settings can remove existing cookies and site storage.
