Adolf Eichmann helped organize the deportation of Jews across Nazi-controlled Europe. After the war he escaped to Argentina, where Israeli agents captured him in 1960. His trial in Jerusalem the following year brought documents and survivors’ testimony into a proceeding followed around the world. This short documentary turns to the execution that followed the conviction and rejected appeals. Eichmann was hanged in 1962, but the significance of the case extends far beyond the final statements attributed to him. The trial examined how officials organized persecution and transported human beings into a system of mass murder.
